VILLA SINA

Spresiano, Treviso
Team: Massimo Galeotti, Andrea Cellotto e Giuseppe Passuello

Villa Sina was built at the beginning of the XX century and is located in a 10,000 m2 park in the town of Spresiano, Treviso. The park is characterized by a neo-classical and romantic garden style: the landscape features decorative classical elements and romantic influences, with arboreal species that were typical and aesthetically imposed during that specific historical period.

The proposal suggests employing the location as a multifunctional space, adequately equipped and at the service of citizens, lending it a symbolic value and turning it into a social public place: a smart and detailed restoration, even if slight and only little invasive, has the potential to re-establish the urban decorum of the municipality.

The restoration work needed on the manor is minimal, while the barchessa is the target of a major restoration and architectural requalification action. An additional volume provides the building with a new purpose and public identification: the structure welcomes and guides the users, host events and houses a small auditorium, music halls and multifunctional areas for the community. The realization of a new path system of the park includes the employment of different materials depending on the connection between the activities within the structure.

A new parking lot will be realized on the northern side of the villa, outside of the green area, providing around 50 parking places.

Right next to the public entrance there will be a new recreation ground for children, while the adjacent area will be covered in lawn grass and equipped with tables and benches, to allow picnics and relaxing moments under the trees.

The area sprawling in front of the villa reacquires its original meaning and is restored into an ornamental garden.
